ܐܬܕܡܘ ܒܝ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܒܡܫܝܚܐ
bmshykh' 'n' d'p 'ykn' by 'thdmw
Be imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.

ܡܫܒܚ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܚܝ ܕܒܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܡܥܗܕ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܝ ܘܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܫܠܡܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܦܘܩܕܢܐ ܐܚܝܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'nthwn 'khydyn pwqdn' lkwn d'shlmth w'ykn' ly 'nthwn mehd mdm dbkl 'khy dyn lkwn 'n' mshbkh
Now I praise you, brothers, that you remember me in all things, and hold firm the traditions, even as I delivered them to you.

ܨܒܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܟܠ ܓܒܪ ܪܫܗ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܗܘ ܘܪܫܗ ܕܐܢܬܬܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܗܘ ܘܪܫܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ
hw 'lh' dmshykh' wrshh hw gbr' d'nthth' wrshh hw mshykh' rshh gbr dkl dthdewn dyn 'n' tsb'
But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

ܟܠ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܡܨܠܐ ܐܘ ܡܬܢܒܐ ܟܕ ܡܟܣܝ ܪܫܗ ܡܒܗܬ ܪܫܗ
rshh mbhth rshh mksy kd mthnb' 'w dmtsl' gbr' kl
Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head.

ܘܟܠ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܡܨܠܝܐ ܐܘ ܡܬܢܒܝܐ ܟܕ ܓܠܐ ܪܫܗ ܡܒܗܬܐ ܪܫܗ ܫܘܝܐ ܗܝ ܓܝܪ ܥܡ ܗܝ ܕܓܪܝܥ ܪܫܗ
rshh dgrye hy em gyr hy shwy' rshh mbhth' rshh gl' kd mthnby' 'w dmtsly' 'nthth' wkl
But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered dishonors her head. For it is one and the same thing as if she were shaved.

ܐܢ ܓܝܪ ܠܐ ܡܬܟܣܝܐ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܐܦ ܬܣܬܦܪ ܐܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܫܟܪ ܗܘ ܠܐܢܬܬܐ ܠܡܣܬܦܪܘ ܐܘ ܠܡܓܪܥ ܬܬܟܣܐ

For if a woman is not covered, let her hair also be cut off. But if it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut off or be shaved, let her be covered.

ܓܒܪܐ ܓܝܪ ܠܐ ܚܝܒ ܕܢܟܣܐ ܪܫܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܕܡܘܬܐ ܗܘ ܘܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܓܒܪܐ
dgbr' hy thshbwkhth' dyn 'nthth' d'lh' wthshbwkhth' hw ddmwth' mTl rshh dnks' khyb l' gyr gbr'
For a man indeed ought not to have his head covered, because he is the image and glory of God, but the woman is the glory of the man.

ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܓܒܪܐ ܡܢ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܡܢ ܓܒܪܐ
gbr' mn 'nthth' 'l' 'nthth' mn gbr' 'ythwhy gyr l'
For man is not from woman, but woman from man;

ܘܐܦܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܓܒܪܐ ܐܬܒܪܝ ܡܛܠ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܓܒܪܐ
gbr' mTl 'nthth' 'l' 'nthth' mTl 'thbry gbr' gyr w'pl'
for man wasn’t created for the woman, but woman for the man.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܚܝܒܐ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܫܘܠܛܢܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܪܫܗ ܡܛܠ ܡܠܐܟܐ
ml'k' mTl rshh el nhw' dshwlTn' 'nthth' khyb' hn' mTl
For this cause the woman ought to have authority over her own head, because of the angels.

ܒܪܡ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܠܒܪ ܡܢ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܐܦܠܐ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܠܒܪ ܡܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܒܡܪܢ
bmrn gbr' mn lbr 'nthth' 'pl' 'nthth' mn lbr gbr' l' dyn brm
Nevertheless, neither is the woman independent of the man, nor the man independent of the woman, in the Lord.

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܢܬܬܐ ܡܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܓܒܪܐ ܒܝܕ ܐܢܬܬܐ ܟܠܡܕܡ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ
hw 'lh' mn dyn klmdm 'nthth' byd gbr' 'p hkn' gbr' mn d'nthth' gyr 'ykn'
For as woman came from man, so a man also comes through a woman; but all things are from God.

ܕܘܢܘ ܒܝܢܝܟܘܢ ܠܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܝܐܐ ܠܐܢܬܬܐ ܕܟܕ ܓܠܐ ܪܫܗ ܬܨܠܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ
l'lh' thtsl' rshh gl' dkd l'nthth' y'' lnpshkwn bynykwn dwnw
Judge for yourselves. Is it appropriate that a woman pray to God unveiled?

ܐܦܠܐ ܗܘ ܟܝܢܐ ܡܠܦ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܡܐ ܕܩܐܡ ܣܥܪܗ ܨܥܪܐ ܗܘ ܠܗ
lh hw tser' serh dq'm m' dgbr' lkwn mlp kyn' hw 'pl'
Doesn’t even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him?

ܘܐܢܬܬܐ ܡܐ ܕܡܪܒܝ ܣܥܪܗ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܗܝ ܠܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܣܥܪܗ ܚܠܦ ܬܟܣܝܬܐ ܗܘ ܐܬܝܗܒ ܠܗ
lh 'thyhb hw thksyth' khlp dserh mTl lh hy thshbwkhth' serh dmrby m' w'nthth'
But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given to her for a covering.

ܐܢ ܐܢܫ ܕܝܢ ܡܬܚܪܐ ܥܠ ܗܠܝܢ ܠܢ ܠܝܬ ܥܝܕܐ ܐܝܟ ܗܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܠܥܕܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ
d'lh' ledthh wl' hn' 'yk eyd' lyth ln hlyn el mthkhr' dyn 'nsh 'n
But if any man seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither do God’s assemblies.

ܗܕܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܡܦܩܕ ܐܢܐ ܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܫܒܚ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܩܕܡܝܟܘܢ ܐܬܝܬܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܠܒܨܝܪܘܬܐ ܗܘ ܢܚܬܬܘܢ
nkhththwn hw lbtsyrwth' 'l' 'thythwn lqdmykwn hw' dl' mTl lkwn 'n' mshbkh 'yk l' 'n' dmpqd dyn hd'
But in giving you this command, I don’t praise you, that you come together not for the better but for the worse.

ܠܘܩܕܡ ܓܝܪ ܡܐ ܕܡܬܟܢܫܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܥܕܬܐ ܦܠܓܘܬܐ ܫܡܥ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܝܢܬܟܘܢ ܘܡܕܡ ܡܕܡ ܡܗܝܡܢ ܐܢܐ
'n' mhymn mdm wmdm bynthkwn d'yth 'n' shme plgwth' bedth' 'nthwn dmthknshyn m' gyr lwqdm
For first of all, when you come together in the assembly, I hear that divisions exist among you, and I partly believe it.

ܥܬܝܕܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܦ ܚܪܝܢܐ ܕܢܗܘܘܢ ܒܝܢܬܟܘܢ ܕܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܒܩܝܢ ܒܟܘܢ ܢܬܝܕܥܘܢ
nthydewn bkwn dbqyn d'ylyn bynthkwn dnhwwn khryn' 'p gyr 'nwn ethydyn
For there also must be factions among you, that those who are approved may be revealed among you.

ܡܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܕܡܬܟܢܫܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܘ ܐܝܟ ܕܙܕܩ ܠܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܐܟܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܫܬܝܢ
wshthyn 'nthwn 'klyn dmrn lywmh dzdq 'yk lw 'nthwn dmthknshyn hkyl m'
When therefore you assemble yourselves together, it is not the Lord’s supper that you eat.

ܐܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܐܢܫ ܚܫܡܝܬܗ ܩܕܡ ܐܟܠ ܠܗ ܘܗܘܐ ܚܕ ܟܦܢ ܘܚܕ ܪܘܐ
rw' wkhd kpn khd whw' lh 'kl qdm khshmythh 'nsh 'nsh 'l'
For in your eating each one takes his own supper first. One is hungry, and another is drunken.

ܕܠܡܐ ܒܬܐ ܠܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܬܐܟܠܘܢ ܘܬܫܬܘܢ ܐܘ ܒܥܕܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܣܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܡܒܗܬܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܫܒܚܟܘܢ ܒܗܕܐ ܠܐ ܡܫܒܚ ܐܢܐ
'n' mshbkh l' bhd' 'shbkhkwn lkwn 'mr mn' lhwn dlyth l'ylyn 'nthwn wmbhthyn 'nthwn bsyn d'lh' bedthh 'w wthshthwn dth'klwn lkwn lyth bth' dlm'
What, don’t you have houses to eat and to drink in? Or do you despise God’s assembly, and put them to shame who don’t have enough? What shall I tell you? Shall I praise you? In this I don’t praise you.

ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܩܒܠܬ ܡܢ ܡܪܢ ܗܘ ܡܕܡ ܕܐܫܠܡܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܒܗܘ ܠܠܝܐ ܕܡܫܬܠܡ ܗܘܐ ܢܣܒ ܗܘܐ ܠܚܡܐ
lkhm' hw' nsb hw' dmshthlm lly' bhw yshwe dmrn lkwn d'shlmth mdm hw mrn mn qblth gyr 'n'
For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread.

ܘܒܪܟ ܘܩܨܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܣܒܘ ܐܟܘܠܘ ܗܢܘ ܦܓܪܝ ܕܥܠ ܐܦܝܟܘܢ ܡܬܩܨܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܠܕܘܟܪܢܝ
ldwkrny ebdyn hwythwn hkn' mthqts' 'pykwn del pgry hnw 'kwlw sbw w'mr wqts' wbrk
When he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “Take, eat. This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in memory of me.”

ܗܟܢܐ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܕܐܚܫܡܘ ܐܦ ܟܣܐ ܝܗܒ ܘܐܡܪ ܗܢܐ ܟܣܐ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܕܝܬܩܐ ܚܕܬܐ ܒܕܡܝ ܗܟܢܐ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܟܠ ܐܡܬܝ ܕܫܬܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܕܘܟܪܢܝ
ldwkrny 'nthwn dshthyn 'mthy kl ebdyn hwythwn hkn' bdmy khdth' dythq' 'ythwhy ks' hn' w'mr yhb ks' 'p d'khshmw bthr mn hkn'
In the same way he also took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me.”

ܟܠ ܐܡܬܝ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܟܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܚܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܫܬܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܟܣܐ ܗܢܐ ܡܘܬܗ ܗܘ ܕܡܪܢ ܡܥܗܕܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܡܐܬܝܬܗ
lm'thythh edm' 'nthwn mehdyn dmrn hw mwthh hn' ks' 'nthwn wshthyn hn' lkhm' 'nthwn d'klyn gyr 'mthy kl
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

ܐܝܢܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܕܐܟܠ ܡܢ ܠܚܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܫܬܐ ܡܢ ܟܣܗ ܘܠܐ ܫܘܐ ܠܗ ܡܚܝܒ ܗܘ ܠܕܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܦܓܪܗ
wlpgrh dmry' ldmh hw mkhyb lh shw' wl' ksh mn wshth' dmry' lkhmh mn d'kl hkyl 'yn'
Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks the Lord’s cup in a way unworthy of the Lord will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܐܢܫ ܒܩܐ ܢܦܫܗ ܘܗܝܕܝܢ ܐܟܠ ܡܢ ܠܚܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܘܫܬܐ ܡܢ ܟܣܐ ܗܢܐ
hn' ks' mn wshth' hn' lkhm' mn 'kl whydyn npshh bq' 'nsh nhw' hn' mTl
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.

ܡܢ ܕܐܟܠ ܓܝܪ ܘܫܬܐ ܡܢܗ ܟܕ ܠܐ ܫܘܐ ܚܘܝܒܐ ܗܘ ܠܢܦܫܗ ܐܟܠ ܘܫܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܦܪܫ ܦܓܪܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ
dmry' pgrh prsh dl' wshth' 'kl lnpshh hw khwyb' shw' l' kd mnh wshth' gyr d'kl mn
For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy way eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he doesn’t discern the Lord’s body.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܣܓܝܐܝܢ ܒܟܘܢ ܡܪܥܐ ܘܟܪܝܗܐ ܘܣܓܝܐܐ ܕܕܡܟܝܢ
ddmkyn wsgy'' wkryh' mre' bkwn sgy'yn hn' mTl
For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep.
31
ܐܠܘ ܓܝܪ ܢܦܫܢ ܕܝܢܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ ܠܐ ܡܬܕܝܢܝܢ ܗܘܝܢ
hwyn mthdynyn l' hwyn dynyn npshn gyr 'lw
For if we discerned ourselves, we wouldn’t be judged.

ܟܕ ܡܬܕܝܢܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܡܪܢ ܡܬܪܕܝܘ ܡܬܪܕܝܢܢ ܕܠܐ ܥܡ ܥܠܡܐ ܢܬܚܝܒ
nthkhyb elm' em dl' mthrdynn mthrdyw mrn mn dyn mthdynynn kd
But when we are judged, we are punished by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

ܡܟܝܠ ܐܚܝ ܐܡܬܝ ܕܡܬܟܢܫܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܡܐܟܠ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܡܩܘܝܢ ܚܕ ܠܚܕ
lkhd khd mqwyn hwythwn lm'kl 'nthwn dmthknshyn 'mthy 'khy mkyl
Therefore, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.

ܡܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܟܦܢ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܢܠܥܣ ܕܠܐ ܠܚܝܒܘܬܐ ܬܗܘܘܢ ܡܬܟܢܫܝܢ ܥܠ ܫܪܟܐ ܕܝܢ ܡܐ ܕܐܬܝܬ ܐܦܩܕܟܘܢ
'pqdkwn d'thyth m' dyn shrk' el mthknshyn thhwwn lkhybwth' dl' nles bbythh dkpn dyn mn
But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest your coming together be for judgment. The rest I will set in order whenever I come.
